Elisabeth Geel, "Before I Burn My Journals," oil on canvas, 48" x 60,", 2019
Elisabeth Geel is an eclectic artist who expresses herself through painting, music, poetry, and comic strips.
"My intent, as a visual artist, is to create images that reflect the nonsensical and the
tragicomedy of the world we live in, so that the viewer can acquire a deeper understanding of that same world. To do so, I offer a peek into the subconscious by depicting actual dream scenes that show objects and beings defied by gravity and ripped out of proportion and perspective. I urge the viewer to return to a certain innocence that has gone lost, to the unspoiled child soul, where there is a strong and unbiased curiosity and a desire to explore the uncharted territories of the mind."
